Successful Year of Impact.

From youth programs and local events to international aid and community partnerships, the Rotary Club of Hervey Bay Sunrise has wrapped up 2025–2026 with a strong record of service, fellowship and practical action across the Fraser Coast and beyond.

The 2025–2026 Rotary year was one of energy, generosity and hands-on service for the Rotary Club of Hervey Bay Sunrise. Members supported community events, raised funds for important causes, strengthened local partnerships and contributed to projects that make a real difference in people’s lives.

 

 

Supporting Local Events and Community Spirit

  • Motor Scooter Convoy at Scarness
  • Council Tree Planting
  • PCYC Pump Day during Youth Week
  • Bunnings BBQ
  • Lines in the Sand at Uni SC
  • Walk to Defeat MND at Scarness Park
  • Fraser Coast Mates Golf Day

These activities helped raise funds, keep events running smoothly and show the strength of Rotary’s commitment to practical community service.

Fundraising with Purpose

  • Participated in CROW to raise funds for End Polio Worldwide.

  • Supported the Blue Tree Project, promoting mental health awareness by painting a tree with community members.

  • Delivered a successful Preloved Clothing GALA, encouraging sustainability and community engagement, with funds raised to support domestic violence prevention charities.

  • Held the club’s much-loved twice-yearly Book Sale, continuing one of our most recognised and impactful fundraisers.

Extending Help Beyond Our Region

  • Transported medical and educational supplies to RARE, helping support communities in need.

  • Assisted monthly at Days for Girls assembly days, helping create dignity kits for girls around the world.

Investing in Young People and Education

  • Hosted visiting exchange students, sharing culture, learning and Rotary fellowship.

  • Supplied books for newborn babies in the maternity ward.

  • Kept the club’s Little Libraries stocked and thriving.

  • Became involved in providing breakfast at a local state school, helping students start the day nourished and ready to learn.

  • Facilitated the RYDA – Rotary Youth Driver Awareness program for high school students.

  • Set up the annual Science and Engineering Challenge for high school students, where teams tackled complex construction tasks.

Building Partnerships for a Safer, Stronger Community

  • Attended the Salvation Army Red Shield Appeal Breakfast.

  • Supported and met with the Domestic Violence Alliance Council, strengthening community safety partnerships.

  • Returned from the Tri-District Conference with fresh ideas and renewed energy.

  • Facilitated the Love Bites program by sponsoring trainers who support vulnerable youth.

Helping Major Events Succeed

  • Provided volunteers for the inaugural Hervey Bay Half Marathon.

  • Managed traffic closures at the Hervey Bay Hundy Triathlon, helping create a safe and successful event for athletes and spectators.

  • Set up the hall and managed car parking for the Community Expo.

Service Above Self in Action

From local parks to international aid, from youth programs to major community events, Hervey Bay Sunrise Rotarians have continued to demonstrate the Rotary ideal of Service Above Self. Every project reflects the dedication of our members and the strength of our partnerships across the Fraser Coast.
