A “Second-Hand Book” - The gift that keeps on giving.

We are continually amazed by the wonderful community that supports The Big Book Sale. Each event reminds us just how generous, kind, and connected our community truly is.

Lovely families, repeat customers, people bringing back books from last time, regular holidaymakers—everyone who made the two days so special—thank you. It is always a joy to see books finding new homes and to watch people of all ages sharing their love of reading.

Our wonderful communities support inspires us to keep going and make it even better. Every dollar raised goes back into our community, helping us support local projects and continue initiatives that make a real difference.

Some surplus school books are being sent to Timor-Leste (through Rotary Australia Repurposing Equipment, Northern Region), and junior readers are helping restock our community library boxes.

Events like this are about more than books—they are about bringing people together, sharing resources, and creating opportunities for others, both locally and beyond.

Our heartfelt thanks go to our supreme organiser, Val Hooper, whose dedication, energy, and countless hours of effort helped make the sale such a success.

Our outbound Rotary Youth Exchange - D9560 student, Indi, had her first taste of Rotary life.
Thanks to Bayside Transformations for your assistance, and to HBNC for the wonderful venue.

We run our book sale twice a year to raise funds for our community. One sale has just finished, and we have already started gathering books for the next one. The support we receive each time encourages us to keep building on what has become a much-loved community event.

We look forward to seeing everyone again in six months for an even bigger and better BIG Book Sale. Until then, thank you once again for helping turn second-hand books into lasting community benefit.
